mission impossible can be portrayed as popular movie, but often the viewer dose not catch on to hidden meanings it interprets. I noticed as soon as the intro had started a not very popular 'zoom' had been used. I think this is scene as quiet intense and highlights near straight away the main focus which in our case was the patgonist. As we proceed on the shot turns into a long shot revealing the landscape around him. This is were the audience first truly recognizes the danger the man is in, by exploiting the location we now have more about his persona as person. which in this case denotes courage, quick thinker, independent, leader. using the longshot was effective as we see the whole landscape making our patagonist seem inferior to his natural environment. cultural music is being played in the background slightly upbeat giving tension away from the danger 100ft drop below him, this also gives us hints about the personality of the character by this alone we know the man knows what he's doing, shows experience in work field, or what he's trying to achieve. when the character drops/falls and eagles screech sound effect is played, this is important as eagles are top of the food chain they stand for independence making them superior. In addition the character also portrays a Christ like symbol, by fallings he rescues himself and as doing so pauses for a good few seconds in a potion as if his portraying Christ on the cross. This can highlight a lot to us, the directors want us to know he is an important figure within the film. Jesus was seen as immortal, meaning our patagonist.
